初期の頃
Shuaib was born in a small village called Al-Sahlah, located in Ibb governorate, Yemen. Growing up, he had to walk about 3 miles to school every weekday to study. Basic human needs were very limited and hard to get in a remote village like his hometown. Shuaib grew up away from technology and spent most of his time playing outside with his friends. In 2008, his older brother sent him an old desktop PC to watch the cartoon Future Boy Conan . Playing with that desktop PC really got Shuaib’s attention. In 2009, his family got the opportunity to move to the United States.

刑事司法の準学士号を取得したシュアイブは、刑事司法は自分には向いていないと感じていた。サッカーをしていたとき、シュアイブの仲間の一人が彼にコンピューター・サイエンスの入門クラスを取るように勧めた。シュアイブは彼のアドバイスを受け、そのクラスに申し込んだ。シュアイブの教師の一人、トロイ・アミックがマイクロソフトのデータセンター・アカデミーを紹介した。彼はアドバイザーのところへ行き、プログラムに申し込んだ。
2019年の夏、シュアイブはデータセンター・アカデミーのプログラムを修了し、資格を取得した。DCAプログラムの一環として、シュアイブはシャイアンにある地元のデータセンターでの求人について知らされ、それに応募し、面接プロセスを経て、2019年9月9日に採用された。

Training the new technicians is one of Shuaib’s favorite things to do. Seeing the “aha” moment on their face when everything clicks is out of this world. Just being a resource to everyone at work is something he likes doing—being that person everyone can reach out to when they have difficulties troubleshooting servers, understanding what the ticket is asking for, and helping them with any barriers they may face. Shuaib likes doing the most difficult tasks on the team to further his knowledge and challenge himself.
ある日の出来事
シュアイブは午後6時に出勤し、メールに目を通し、シフト全員がそれぞれのビルにチケットを割り当てられたことを確認する。午後6時30分ごろ、5-in-15ミーティングに出席し、安全、前シフトのハイライトとローライト、天候、その日の主要プロジェクトについて話し合う。午後11時ごろには昼食をとり、その間にサウジアラビアで入国ビザの発給を待つ妻とビデオ・チャットをする。昼食後、シュアイブは列に異常がないか監視する。朝6時まで仕事に戻る。家に帰るとすぐに寝るようにして、午後早く起きて用事を済ませ、その日の昼食を作る。

Yemen has a variety of dishes. Shakshouka reminds Shuaib of his childhood. His sister-in-law used to make this dish for the entire family for dinner. It reminds him of childhood when his family would gather around to share dinner with laughter and good memories. . . .
