Greece

Microsoft is introducing a datacenter region in the Attica area. We support local initiatives and programs around digital skilling, sustainability and community empowerment for all ages. In Greece, our collaborations are organized by our focus pillars of Skills for Jobs, Enabling Sustainability and Empowering Communities on a nationwide & hyperlocal scale.

Aligned with Microsoft’s global commitments, our datacenter community pledge is to build and operate digital infrastructure that addresses societal challenges and creates benefits for communities in which we operate and where our employees live and work. We will contribute to a sustainable future, advance community prosperity and well-being, and operate responsibly as a good neighbor.

    Through listening and conversations, we strive to earn the trust of the communities we serve and the governments that represent them. These conversations help us build on the great work of others and align our operations and community investments with local values, aspirations, strengths, and needs. 

    In Greece, we have launched local community programs and activities focused on three strategic pillars: Education, Skilling/Employment and Heritage.

  • Increasing access to digital skills 

    We believe economic growth can and must be inclusive. That’s why we invest to help individuals, organizations, and communities access pathways to growth and opportunity. We invest in programs to help people build skills for jobs and livelihood opportunities and increase access to computer science education. 

    In Greece, Microsoft announced the GRforGRowth initiative in 2020, a significant technology commitment to support the people, government and businesses of all sizes in Greece with technology and resources to create new opportunities for growth.
