The following program list contains a sample of the kinds of investments we make on an annual basis, aligned with the Microsoft Datacenter Community Pledge.

Socialinnov enables youth, underserved communities, educators, and subject matter experts to fulfill their social and professional potential. It offers them the opportunity to develop digital and competitive business skills.
- Tech Skilling for Spata provides tailored Microsoft skills training to the Spata community, thereby broadening access to tech skilling opportunities for all. The goal is to enhance participants’ abilities to use devices, software, and tools for effective collaboration, information discovery, use, and creation. The project also offers foundational knowledge in the Microsoft Cloud, enabling participants to stay current and enhance productivity by reaping the benefits of AI, while gaining recognition through Microsoft Cloud Fundamentals certification.
Re:Invent Education is transforming education using virtual and augmented reality as well as other emerging technologies. Its goal is to bring education to those who lack access and to prepare students for their future roles in society by providing them with the latest technologies.
- Minecraft Education invites students to build their sustainable school, city, or important local landmarks. Using their creativity, they develop key STEM concepts along with digital skills and sustainability values. By redesigning urban environments in a more sustainable way, they gain practical knowledge in architecture, environmental science, and urban planning. Students explore the concept of datacenters as part of the community as well as critical aspects of their operation such as the energy-efficient designs and the renewable energy sources used. This hands-on project encourages creativity, teamwork, and critical thinking, while highlighting the importance of eco-friendly technology.

Istorima is a nonprofit organization established to provide employment to over 1,000 unemployed Greek youth by engaging them in the recording of oral histories in their local communities across Greece. Collecting stories as experienced, Istorima preserves the humane voice of history and shares podcasts, collections, and features that help us discover new and diverse perspectives and shape a better understanding of ourselves and the world. The stories collected are archived in a public archive (archive.istorima.org) that is accessible to everyone and will be donated to the National Archives of Greece.
- Cloud Stories aims to use the cloud technology of datacenters to preserve the local history and heritage of the communities where they are built. Local history and heritage are very important to the Greek culture, yet are often overlooked, neglected, or forgotten, as they are not recorded or preserved in any meaningful way. Saved in the cloud, these stories will be accessible to anyone who wants to learn more about the history and culture of these communities and support the new generation to write new history. The stories, told by the natives, are transformed into videos and podcasts with the dual aim of preserving local history and of spreading the word of tradition to the youngest generations. Cloud Stories builds a bridge between the past and the future of the communities based on the power of the cloud which ensures that all the stories are accessible and safely preserved.
