Strengthening digital skills and expanding STEM opportunities across metro Atlanta

Across metro Atlanta, community organizations are creating new pathways for residents to access technology, build skills, and explore emerging career opportunities.
Through the Community Circle, a new initiative led by The Same House, six trusted organizations are expanding their work to bring digital literacy, AI awareness, and workforce readiness directly into neighborhoods across the region.
Launched with the support of Microsoft, the Community Circle reflects a community-centered approach to advancing learning and training opportunities to help ensure that technological innovation benefits the broader Atlanta community and that critical training, exposure, and education in digital skills are accessible in our datacenter communities.
Investing in community leadership
The Same House, based in Atlanta, accelerates solutions that bring communities together and help bridge social and economic divides. The Community Circle was launched in 2026 to support organizations already advancing meaningful work in their communities. The initiative recognizes that trusted local leaders are often best positioned to deliver programs that connect residents with opportunity.
The inaugural Community Circle includes:
- Empress and Pearls—empowering young women through data literacy and cohort-based learning.
- Educate the City—expanding digital literacy and AI skilling for youth, adults, and seniors.
- Arrow Youth Leadership Council—advancing youth leadership development and career exposure.
- TLAB—delivering youth-focused digital literacy and AI skilling opportunities.
- HBCU All-Stars Foundation—supporting eSports programming, STEM learning, and building pathways to college and careers in technology.
- Georgia Works—advancing sustainability by connecting unemployed and underemployed Georgians to workforce pathways.
Each selected organization brings a unique perspective and a deep understanding of the communities they serve and has a proven track record of impact and delivering meaningful opportunities that expand access to skills, resources, and pathways for long-term economic mobility.
Connecting technology to community opportunity
As technology continues to reshape the economy, access to digital skills is increasingly important for individuals seeking career advancement and economic mobility.
Through collaborative and pledged support aligned with Microsoft’s Datacenter Community Pledge and Community-First AI Infrastructure commitment, the Community Circle organizations were able to expand programs that introduce residents to technology, digital tools, and emerging career pathways.
Organizations participating in the Community Circle also gain access to Microsoft resources that support program growth, including digital skilling initiatives, AI training opportunities, and technical expertise that can help strengthen organizational capacity.
Meeting communities where they are
A defining feature of the Community Circle is its focus on meeting people where they are. Programs are designed to take place in neighborhoods, community centers, and mobile learning environments where residents already gather and engage.
These efforts help ensure that access to technology and career exploration opportunities reach people across different stages of life—from students discovering technology for the first time to adults looking to strengthen skills for the modern workforce.
Building a model for sustainable impact
The Community Circle was designed with long-term impact in mind. By strengthening organizations already doing meaningful work and connecting them with additional resources, the initiative creates a model that can expand over time.
As metro Atlanta continues to grow as a hub for technology and innovation, efforts like the Community Circle help ensure that communities across the region are positioned to benefit from that growth.
When trusted community leadership, technology, and opportunity come together, the result is stronger neighborhoods, expanded economic mobility, and a more inclusive digital future.
