Eggborough datacentre project updates

Why datacentres are needed

Datacentres provide the physical infrastructure for the technology we depend on at work and in our personal lives. Whenever you open an app on your phone, join a virtual classroom or meeting, snap and save photos, or play a game with your friends online, you are using a datacentre. Local businesses, government, hospitals, and schools rely on datacentres every day to deliver goods and services to you.

February 28 – Eggborough datacentre public exhibitions

On 21st and 22nd February Microsoft hosted two community events to present our proposals for a new datacentre on part of the site of the former Eggborough Power Station to the local community. These were held between 2pm and 7pm on both days at the Eggborough Methodist Church in Eggborough.

The information presented gave an overview of the proposals, demonstrated illustrative site plans and renders, and indicative timelines and members of the project team were on hand to answer questions.

Thank you for all who attended and provided feedback at the events, we hope you found it informative.

For those of you who could not attend, please review the link to the materials exhibited at the event.
