Funding community transformation in Warsaw metropolitan region through the ChangeX Community Challenge

In Poland, the Microsoft Community Fund for Warsaw managed by ChangeX offers a new path to funding and resources for nonprofits wanting to help strengthen their community. The fund aims to empower new local projects around AI tech skilling and environmental stewardship, contributing to more livable, inclusive, and sustainable communities.
Interested organizations can pitch a new project idea, or they can select from a list of existing ideas that have already shown positive impact in other communities worldwide. Options include:
- Coding club: Teaching coding and related skills, with an offline method that maximizes accessibility for all.
- Eartheasy garden: Creating a school garden for community centered around education, food, and fun.
- Shared use station: Promoting resource sustainability and lower consumption through a local meet-and-share station.
- Repair café: Hosting a meeting place with free tools, resources, and expert volunteers to help repair things together.
- The WeCount Project: Monitoring local pollution to create healthier, sustainable communities through data.
- FIRST LEGO League: Teaching STEM and teamwork through robotics and real-world problem solving, with three programs across ages 4-16.
After applying, organizations have 30 days to complete a series of preparatory steps to unlock initial funding and begin their project. Organizations may receive up to PLN60,000 for their project.
