Investing in career and educational resources for Racine County

Through a series of initiatives in Racine County and collaboration with United Way of Racine County and Gateway Technical College, Microsoft is providing support to prepare the community for increased job opportunities and educational resources that will be available to the region in the coming months.
In May 2025, United Way of Racine County, with support from Microsoft, organized and held a community impact and resource fair at Gateway Technical College featuring local nonprofit and community-based organizations that make a difference for people throughout Racine County. The fair featured job training programs, employer connections, and community resource information for more than 150 attendees. Guest speakers and stakeholders from the community provided insight into opportunities and resources available to residents of Racine County.
Microsoft’s involvement in Racine County includes promoting resources and programs that boost individual career journeys and skill-building at all levels. Grant funds help support other United Way of Racine County programs like Equity Through Technology and Girls in STEM, while a scholarship provided by Microsoft helps Gateway Technical College students enrolled in HVAC, engineering, IT, and more for future education.
Ali Haigh, President and CEO of United Way of Racine County, spoke of the collaboration with Microsoft: “You might be surprised to learn most of the organizations here today are supported by Microsoft. In fact, over the last two years they have invested just under $750,000 into community programming through United Way. Those investments are projected to aid over 30,000 Racine County residents.”
