Transforming local industries through the Information Power Alliance
Since 2023, the city government of Taoyuan has promoted its “Smart Taoyuan” initiative, working to develop Taoyuan into Taiwan’s most prominent low-carbon smart technology city. The initiative’s “Intelligent Manufacturing” policy is designed to enhance the intelligence of enterprises within Taoyuan. As concerns about information security have grown, in June 2024 the government announced its partnership with Yuan Ze University and Microsoft to launch the Information Power Alliance.
The Information Power Alliance brings together government, industry, and education sectors to provide information security and AI courses for small and medium-sized enterprises. These courses are designed to help enterprises achieve digital transformation, boosting their market competitiveness. The courses offer local industries the opportunities to not only to improve their productivity and innovation, but also to better achieve the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.
Microsoft also collaborated with Yuan Ze University to create the first Microsoft International Curriculum and Certification Center in Taoyuan, so that residents and students can connect with international certifications and enhance their employment competitiveness. Yuan Ze is building upon its close relationship with local industry and cultivation of AI skills and information security.
Through this triple partnership, the Information Power Alliance will help transform the city into “Smart Taoyuan”, bringing new vitality to the local economy.
