Microsoft operates datacenters in El Mirage and Goodyear, Arizona, part of the Greater Phoenix area. Our community development work supports projects in the West Valley and across Maricopa County.

Dysart Community Center in ArizonaProviding new opportunities for underserved communities

Dysart Community Center serves to address the challenges faced by disadvantaged residents. Its mission has been to empower families with the tools and skills necessary to improve their lives and build self-sufficiency. With the gener8tor Skills Accelerator, learners are supported in obtaining high quality employment in diverse, professional workplaces. In alignment with Microsoft Datacenter Community Development, gener8tor Skills focuses on building technical skills to help under- and unemployed individuals and helps them secure meaningful employment.

In collaboration with local education partners Estrella Mountain Community College and Glendale Community College, Microsoft partnered to open a West Valley Datacenter Academy to help job seekers and students pursue these in-demand technology skills. With more than a dozen Datacenter Academy locations globally, Microsoft provides education partners with guidance on curriculum; donations of servers, laptops, and datacenter equipment for labs; and opportunities for mentorship and work experience in Microsoft datacenters.
