What it means to have Microsoft in your community

We believe that companies that can do more, should. That’s why we remain focused on key areas in which technology can and must benefit the future of humanity and our planet. Aligned with Microsoft’s global commitments, our datacenter community pledge is to build and operate digital infrastructure that addresses community challenges and creates local benefits where we operate and where our employees live and work.

The Loudoun Education Foundation is empowering all students to make meaningful contributions to the world. With Microsoft, they host several STEM events each year.

In partnership with Microsoft, Loudoun Education Foundation provided STEM kits to Loudoun Public Schools middle school students enrolled in the Computer Science Foundations course, with 15 Arduino Student Kits for each of the 17 middle schools. The kit helps teach the basics of Arduino electronics and programming and requires no prior knowledge or skills. Teachers are also upskilled by several in-person training sessions throughout the year to ensure that this equipment is used with fidelity and connects to the curriculum.
