Microsoft in dialogue with municipalities in Lower Austria

Microsoft is currently developing several datacenter projects in Schwechat, Achau, and Vösendorf in Lower Austria. The sites are at various stages—from construction preparation through to operation.

In March 2026, local residents and municipal representatives had the opportunity to gain an up-to-date overview of the project’s progress and engage directly with the Microsoft project team during local information sessions.

The events provided a forum for open and personal dialogue. Many attendees took the opportunity to ask questions, obtain comprehensive information, and share their perspectives. In total, approximately 90 people participated over the course of the three days. Direct dialogue with the municipalities is a key component of the project’s development.
