Jawa Barat datacenter project overview

Construction is underway at the Microsoft datacenter located in the Greenland International Industrial Centre in Jawa Barat, Indonesia.

Why datacenters are needed

Datacenters provide the physical infrastructure for the technology we depend on at work and in our personal lives. Whenever you open an app on your phone, join a virtual classroom or meeting, snap and save photos, or play a game with your friends online, you are using a datacenter. Local businesses, government, hospitals, and schools rely on datacenters every day to deliver goods and services to you.

Construction timeline

Datacenter construction began January 2022. The construction will occur in multiple phases and we provide updates as they are available. The general contractor, PT. Leighton Contractors Indonesia (A subsidiary of CIMIC Group), has been performing construction of the facilities at the Greenland International Industrial Centre.

To ensure the roadways are clear, Leighton is providing additional resources to clean vehicles before exiting the site and will operate a road sweeper daily. To resolve parking congestion, Leighton rented an adjacent area for additional parking.

We will also follow the applicable regulations and comply with local laws as outlined by the Government of the Republic of Indonesia.

Together with Leighton, we are committed to keeping the community informed about project progress.
