Introducing Monika N Vahile

Early days
Monika grew up in Pune, India, in a big family of 19 people. She has two brothers and many cousins who all loved playing outside, especially chain building. Monika’s parents were farmers and she helped them with rice and onion farming and picking vegetables until she finished 10th grade.
Monika was amazed by computers when she first saw one at 13 years old and started playing games, listening to music, and making paintings on it. When she began her technical education, Monika learned a lot about computer hardware technology. She was very curious about how electronic devices worked and enjoyed fixing them.
The path to technology
Monika has always been passionate about electronics and telecommunications and enjoyed working on the printed circuit board image and hardware assembly for her final year project.
“I was lucky enough to land a job in a company that specializes in server hardware technology and that’s where my real career began,” Monika says. “As a female server engineer, I faced many challenges such as going to unfamiliar client locations and fixing the hardware, but I always had the support and guidance of my seniors whenever I needed it.”
Monika has interacted with multiple multinational corporations in the IT industry. After seven years of hard work and learning, she joined the Microsoft family in October 2021 and started working in datacenter technology.
Superpowers
“My environment shaped me into who I am today, but it was not easy to be an independent girl and carve my own path,” Monika says.
Growing up in a joint family, she experienced the joys and challenges of caring, sharing, disagreeing, and respecting each other. These joys and challenges motivated her to pursue her education and fulfill her dreams. Working at Microsoft taught Monika the value of listening. She excels at calming down conflicts and uniting everyone toward a common goal. She is grateful to have such a wonderful team to work with.
A day in the life
Monika loves to begin her day with a glass of warm lemon ginger water that keeps her gut healthy and fresh. She then exercises while listening to her favorite songs and tracks how many calories she burns. Monika enjoys sharing her daily updates on social media and interacting with her friends and followers. As a hardware engineer, Monika checks messages and emails from her team and clients every morning and plans how to handle the tasks assigned to her. She enjoys fixing problems that are challenging and rewarding. Besides her regular work, Monika always looks forward to joining the festival celebrations, Give campaign, social activities, and team-building tasks that make her happy and fulfilled.
Favorite childhood food
Paani puri
As a teenager Monika fell in love with paani puri, a spicy and tangy snack that always makes her happy. Another dish that she enjoys is mutton thali with dry fish, a hearty and delicious meal that satisfies her appetite..
