Being a good neighbor
Being a good neighbor to those communities in which we operate is at the heart of our approach to datacenter development.
In regions that host Microsoft datacenters, at the earliest opportunity we strive to engage in conversations with local leaders, organizations, and those who live and work near our facilities to help us understand more about their needs. Doing so ensures that we can assist with programs and initiatives that help deliver sustainable economic prosperity, social, and educational development in the area.
Many of these conversations happen at a hyper-local level, so, to help make it easier to learn about the many activities in your area I’m delighted to announce our new blog, Microsoft in Your Community.
The blog is a response to suggestions from our community partners and friends around the world that you want to hear more about the work we do in your community. We’ve heard you, and we look forward to sharing more about our work in your neighborhood.
You’ll hear more about our work in local communities around the world from datacenter construction activities including the announcement of our planned datacenter expansion in Cheyenne, Wyoming, environmental sustainability projects like our lower carbon renewable fuel pilot in our Sweden datacenter, and economic development work in Southern Virginia.
