Youth skill-building gains traction in Medina County
In the community of Medina County, Texas, a youth club promotes empowerment and inspiration in the areas of science, technology, engineering, the arts, and math education—referred to as STEAM.
For four days a week during a twelve-week program, the Medina County STEAM Club offers classes for three different age groups covering topics such as coding, robotics, graphic design, AI, and more. Guest speakers and professionals from related fields join classes to speak to the students about real-life jobs and the application of their education. Sessions focus on hands-on learning, critical thinking skills, and problem solving to better prepare students for continued education and future careers in STEAM fields. The club also aims to bridge gaps for rural youth and make education accessible for all local children.
A donation from Microsoft supports the Medina County STEAM Club to continue its efforts in advancing education for youth in the community.
