Inaugural opening of Campus de Terp

On Saturday, September 28, the opening of Campus de Terp took place. The renewal of Campus de Terp was the result of a wonderful collaboration between interest groups focused on education, sports, and recreation in Wieringermeer. In 2019, a group of volunteers from the Wieringermeer Sports and Welfare Foundation started the joint renovation project, led by Age Miedema. Supported by the municipality of Hollands Kroon, volunteers, and donations from local organizations, this campus became a reality.

The result is impressive. Over 14 sports and fitness clubs have found a new home at the Terp in Wieringermeer. Additionally, three elementary schools and a high school can combine sports, games, exercise, and learning in this unique project. The surrounding area is perfect for a relaxing afternoon on the vast meadows, fishing in the newly created fishing pond, or enjoying a walk along the nature trails.

But before the opening event could happen, the campus had to look its best. Through an initiative from Recycle Valley, more than 15 volunteers from Microsoft came together to collect litter. Over 30 bags of trash were removed from nature and could be recycled.
