Jacksonville Road Datacenter Project Updates
Microsoft is building a datacenter on Jacksonville Road in Manassas, Virginia.
Why datacenters are needed
Datacenters provide the physical infrastructure for the technology we depend on at work and in our personal lives. Whenever you open an app on your phone, join a virtual classroom or meeting, snap and save photos, or play a game with your friends online, you are using a datacenter. Local businesses, government, hospitals, and schools rely on datacenters every day to deliver goods and services to you.
January 12, 2024 – Site preparation update
In January 2024, Microsoft’s general contractor, Lemartec, began site preparation work on Jacksonville Road in Manassas. Lemartec is permitted by Prince William County to work between 6 am and 10 pm Monday through Friday and between 9 am and 10 pm on Saturdays, Sundays and some holidays. We anticipate this phase to be completed mid-2024.
We appreciate your patience as Lemartec crews work to safely construct this new datacenter.
